synopsis:	Researching public institutions and public employees brings with it unique challenges for which most graduate students are unprepared. Yet most PRs and Theses in Planning research the public sector to some extent. This presentation tells the story of Rosie's Masters’ Thesis experience - the trials, the tribulations, and the lessons learned.
dialogue:	Is it feasible to perform research using public appointees and elected officials as first-person sources? How can advisors and thesis committee members advance or hinder the research and writing process? What should students avoid when doing research on the public sector?
